About this app

However you want to elevate your golf game, the Garmin Golf app has you covered. You can track your rounds and compete with your friends and fellow golfers on weekly leaderboards at more than 43,000 courses around the world. You can also set up your own tournament events and invite your friends to play along.

Once you pair your phone¹ with an Approach®, fēnix® or another compatible Garmin device², you can view shot maps of each hole on your scorecard as you track your golf rounds. Course stats and performance stats are available after your rounds to evaluate your game and look for ways to improve.

With a paid Garmin Golf Membership, even more great features are available:

• Home Tee Hero. Play virtual rounds for more than 43,000 courses around the world with a compatible Garmin launch monitor.
• Green Contours. View green slope arrows and contour lines, so you can plan your approach and sink the putt.
• Swing Video Storage. Once you pair a compatible Garmin launch monitor, you can back up all your swing videos for future reference in our cloud.

Truly awful app if you don't have the watch. I only use it when my watch dies. The app doesn't show yardages, doesn't even show your total score during a round! It regularly won't save your score as you play, you just find out at the end of a round that 3-5 holes weren't saved. Honestly don't know how they can mess up tasks such as "counting up by 1" and "saving numbers smaller than 6." If you forget your watch, you're literally better off using the built in Notes app on your phone.

The shot capture feature in the practice doesn't work. I took videos for the first time, and I can see them attached to the practice session, but it won't let me watch them. Update: I can't even find the video stored on my device anywhere, I don't think it actually recorded anything, despite the camera icon next to the shots in the session view.

Why should I bother loading courses on Garmin golf app when the watch will only download the closest courses? Most often the course I'm going to, is not among the closest. I am forced to take time when I'm at the course to set this up. The watch team needs to work with the app team to get this fixed. once loaded it's fine, but I should be able to load any course I want ahead of time
